I was honoured to be awarded the CAM Outstanding Achievement
Award 2010 at camexpo on 24th October 2010, especially as it was voted for by the industry. It is wonderful to have such positive recognition from my peers – and if you nominated me, thank you so much.
The award was presented at Earls Court by Jayney Goddard, president of the Complementary Medical Association (CMA) during the complementary therapy event at Earls Court. Zoe Campbell, Event Manager, said that the award is the ultimate recognition that can be bestowed on an individual who has made a truly outstanding contribution to the CAM community.
I would like to think that the award is for my book Healing Touch for Children and especially the vision of bringing positive and nurturing touch to children every day, at school and at home, so they grow up feeling loved and special. I have had wonderful feedback from therapists and parents who have used the simple massage and reflexology techniques in the book. Although it is written primarily for children, it appears to be very well-thumbed in many households with all members of the family – both young and old – sharing the benefits.
